Every year, Flagstaff County sponsors youth aged 11-18 to attend an Alberta Community and Cooperative Association (ACCA) camp.
ACCA’s Co-operative Youth Leadership Program provides an opportunity for youth to develop their leadership and teamwork skills. The program is designed to give youth the independence and confidence in their abilities while creating lasting friendships. These seven-day camps take place at Goldeye Centre, located near Nordegg, Alberta. This beautiful, remote setting provides youth the perfect environment to build friendships, discover hidden talents, learn new skills, gain a positive view of the world, and contribute to their own future.
The annual camps are divided into four levels (pre-teen, teen, youth and grad).
In the summer of 2022, Flagstaff County sponsored the following students:
Pre-Teen (Age 11 or 12 by June 24)
- Hayden Freadrich – New
- Julia Vincett – New
- Destiny Castagna – New
Teen A (Age 13 or 14 by June 24)
- Dax McGowan – New
- Wyatt Vincett – New
- Maddie Eckstrand – New
We had a budget to send 10 students to the program.
