heisler

The Village of Heisler is named after Martin Heisler Sr., a pioneer who settled here and then provided the land for the new community. Although it is a small community, Heisler has a lot to offer. A number of the businesses include an Alberta Treasury Branch Agency, the Cozy Corner Seniors Residence, Canada Post, the Catholic Church, a hotel/motel, a restaurant, general store, two garages with mechanics, a stitching business, a library, village office, public works building, a guest house, and a Volunteer Fire Department.

In terms of recreation, Heisler is very famous for its love of baseball. In June 2007, the community decided to commemorate the sport and the individuals who have carried on in making Heisler a strong baseball community. A local artist designed and built the largest baseball glove in Canada and it was placed adjacent to the baseball fields. At the sports grounds, there is also a large concession booth with kitchen facilities. For the summer campers, Heisler has 10 serviced camp sites.

The Recreation Centre has a skating rink, four lanes of 5-pin bowling (neon bowling available) and several rooms for community groups to meet. Heisler is very proud of their Community Centre, which is availabe for rent for a variety of events. We look forward to your visit to the Premier Village of Heisler.
