Village of Lougheed

lougheed alberta

The Village of Lougheed was incorporated in 1911. The community is located on the south side of Highway 13 and aligns with the Canadian Pacific Rail Line. Lougheed is home to one of Canada's largest Agri-businesses and has other businesses that support agriculture, including the seed cleaning plant, grain elevators, bulk fuel sales and a farm implement dealership.

For residents and visitors alike, our village has something to offer in all seasons. The community is proud of the camping and picnic locations, trout pond, horseshoe pits, model air craft field, museum, and four baseball diamonds. In 2007, the Lougheed Agricultural Society successfully hosted their 84th Annual Fair.

During the winter, the "hub of activity" is at the arena. Over the years, community volunteers and groups have rallied to offer programs and events to attract people of all ages. In the winter, residents and visitors enjoy cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and curling in this inviting and friendly community.
