AltaLink, through its contractor Stantec, is doing an Amphibian Environmental Survey on one of their proposed transmission line routes. This work is starting in May and continuing through to mid-June and is done in the evening through the early morning, usually commencing after 8:00 p.m. and finishing at 2:00 a.m.

The survey is done on foot by one or two people, who will have a helmet or flashlights and will be in the middle of the fields. AltaLink and Stantec have received permission from landowners to access these areas.

The general area they are studying is from east of Hardisty north to west of Irma (see below for a list and map of the roads that will be used). There will be some traffic with periodic stop/starts during the work times. AltaLink has placed bold signs at several places along the route.
