The Government of Alberta and the Government of Canada are providing operating funding support to municipalities through the Municipal Operating Support Transfer (MOST). This funding is provided as part of the Safe Restart Agreement. Municipal Operating Support Transfer (MOST) Funding provides support to municipalities which have experienced significant operating impacts due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Flagstaff County’s strategy is to utilize all of this funding to provide financial relief for eligible not-for-profit groups and organizations within the Flagstaff Region most affected by COVID-19 and provincial restrictions.
The County has $383,506 available to not-for-profit organizations within the Flagstaff Region that provide facilities, services, programs, and events for County residents. Not-for-profit organizations have undoubtedly been financially impacted by COVID-19 through additional expenses or lack of revenue.
Eligible organizations will meet ALL the following criteria:
- A registered non-profit organization
- Located within the Flagstaff Region (Flagstaff County and the communities within it)
- Operations ceased or were negatively impacted due to Covid-19
Faith-based and religious organizations are ineligible but are encouraged to seek funding through the Government of Alberta’s Faith-based and Cultural Facility Relaunch Grant.
Examples of eligible organizations include, but may not be limited to:
- 4-H clubs
- Museum groups
- Service clubs/organizations
- Recreation facilities/societies
- Community hall groups
Flagstaff County recognizes the important contribution that not-for-profit organizations and service groups provide to the viability of our communities and we want to ensure that these organizations continue to provide valuable contributions to the Flagstaff Region well into the future.
If your organization has been impacted by COVID-19 either through lost revenue (inability to operate and/or fundraise) or additional expenses were incurred to manage COVID-19, we encourage you to apply for funding.
