The Flagstaff Bike Challenge is back! This year's challenge runs from June 1 to August 31, 2021.
Here, participants can share their rides, cheer on others, participate in bonus challenges and compete on the weekly and monthly leaderboards for total kilometres biked. Did we mention there will be numerous chances to win cool prizes?! More details will be released to those that sign up!
The Flagstaff Bike Challenge was established in the summer of 2020 as a way to encourage the region's residents to get outside, get active and feel connected to the area in a safe manner during the pandemic. It was designed for participants of ALL ages and abilities.
In keeping with that premise, the 2021 Flagstaff Bike Challenge will introduce a family division for parents and children!
Parents, record your ride on Strava as you normally would, but then be sure to comment if any of your children accompanied you. Each family ride (consisting of at least one parent and one child) will earn an entry into a draw for some cool prizes.
We are also running a Bike Bingo with some more cool prizes up for grabs. See below for more details.
For the more seasoned riders, we will once again have a competitive division with some cool prizes for the Top 5 individuals that record the most kilometres.
We urge you to join us this summer and rise to the challenge!
- Participants don't have to live in Flagstaff County to take part in the Flagstaff Bike Challenge, but you do have to record at least one ride in Flagstaff County to be eligible for prizes.
- In the interest of fairness and in keeping with the goal of getting riders outside, only outdoor rides recorded on an outdoor bicycle will count towards a participant's total mileage. Mileage on any type of stationary bike will not be counted.
- All participants are encouraged to cheer on your fellow riders through Strava, while also sharing photos and feedback from your rides.
- And most importantly, all participants are encouraged to have fun!
Flagstaff County wishes to acknowledge and thank the following Flagstaff Region businesses that are contributing to the prizes up for grabs in the 2021 Flagstaff Bike Challenge.
