Bylaws

All County bylaws are applied and enforced in Galahad and Strome. Effective January 1, 2016, County policies for service levels also apply to both hamlets.

In the case of the land-use bylaw, existing developments may be grandfathered regarding compliance with County bylaws until further development takes place.

Notice

A Dog Control Bylaw and a Nuisance Bylaw have been approved by Council. To view these bylaws, please visit the County Bylaws page.

Please note that there will no longer be a requirement that owners license their dogs. As an alternative, owners will be required to obtain an identification tag for their dog (which, as defined, may include: physical tags worn by the dog, a tattoo, or microchip). This requirement will assist in reuniting lost dogs with their owners and distinguishing domesticated dogs from feral or other stray dogs, but avoids imposing the administrative burden requiring the County to administer the issuance of licenses or dog tags. Each owner will require an identification for dogs over six months old.
