The purpose of the 4Evergreen Seedlings Program is to:
- Provide free evergreen seedlings to residents to plant into dying native popular or evergreen stands.
- This program would provide rejuvenation of a native tree species into the landscape.
Flagstaff County is offering free evergreen seedlings to be planted into native tree stands (no ornamental plantings), within the County. These seedlings will provide years of beautiful scenery in their natural setting. Anyone or groups are encouraged to apply.
An application form will need to be completed. Tree limits will be in effect.
Deadline to apply is April 24, 2017.
If you would like to take part in this project or would like more information, call the ASB Department at 780-384-4118.
This program started in Camrose County in 2013. The idea of rejuvenating native, dying tree stands was brought to the attention of the Agriculture Services Board. Camrose County offered free white spruce seedlings to landowners and program has grown every year.
In 2016, Flagstaff County piloted this program, and hope it also grows every year here.
